FLEEING THE BOMBS. FROM LA BARCELONETA TO THE UPPER AREA

Travelling exhibition
The exhibit “Fleeing the bombs. From La Barceloneta to the upper area“ explains the evacuation of the Barceloneta neighborhood following the bombing this area suffered in the time of the Spanish War (1936-39) The attacks were so intense on this part of the city that most families were evacuated to other points, especially to the upper area, where numerous apartments and villas had been abandoned by their wealthy owners that escaped when the war broke out.

By resembling the form of a house, as an allegory for the forced transfer from one house to another, the exhibition explores the history of the city and aims to give voice to witnesses from this neighborhood.

The exhibition is available for traveling, if you want to host it, please contact us at: contacte@coneixerhistoria.cat
